Truly a great lunch experience. Friendly service and very good food. I had the lamb shawarma wrap and a kibbeh. Both were good, though the kibbeh was a bit expensive at $2.49. The shawarma wrap was like seven dollars, a good price.
I wish the menu offered a bit more variety, but what they do have is on point.
If you find yourself in Memphis craving shawarma, this would be a great place to check out. -

This is our go to place for a lighter fare meal. The staff is friendly, and attentive. The booths are large enough for a party, but are also provide a romantic seating area for a date. They have a menu that is varied and offers the option to have a large dinner, or a sandwich. We start with the hummus dip, which is the best we have found anywhere. My wife loves the fattoush salad. I usually order the chicken shawarma sandwich, it features tender chicken, arabic pickles, and garlic sauce. Do yourself a favor, don't be shy, give Ali Baba's a try!

I have worked in UAE for the past 8 years and I have to say this place is authentic as it can be for being in Memphis. It is on the top of the list for Arabic cuisine in Memphis. The service is mediocre but that is expected.

I was a little weary since a lot of reviews complained about the hit or miss service. Thankfully we came on a good day. I guess my birthday brought us good luck. We were a party if 6 adults and 2 kids. Both kids had an order of chicken tenders and fries. They honestly could have split one order. Us adults shared the appetizer mixed small, grilled meats mixed and kabob mixed platter. Pita and rice that had soaked in the meat flavor came with the items, but not yogurt sauce. Everything was seasoned well, nothing over powering anything. I loved the grilled flavor and nothing was burnt. Our server lady was nice. The only thing we complained about was that our bill had gratuity (15 percent) added on when no where did it have that disclaimer on the menu. We also had coffee and tea. My husband loved the coffee but it's definitely for folks that like their coffee strong. I liked my minty tea but I did take out the mint as too much mint reminds me of toothpaste. We had a rose water dessert which definitely smelled and tasted like soap. The orange cheese dessert I liked though although my mom couldn't comprehend the whole sweet/salty combo.

I worked for a Syrian Family for 10 years in their restaurant in Southern California. I love the food from that part of the world and Ali Baba brought back memories of that time. Very Good Food and made fresh.
